Certified Wood Flooring Inspectors
Becoming an NWFACP Certified Inspector validates an inspector’s wood flooring
knowledge and expertise. Certification helps provide customers with the most thorough
inspection services available.
Certification Prerequisites, Testing & Maintenance
The steps to earn NWFA Inspector Certification include:
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience with installing hardwood floors.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience with sanding & finishing hardwood floors.
- Be a member of NWFA in good standing.
- Attend NWFA Intermediate Installation Training.
- Attend NWFA Intermediate Sand & Finish Training.
- Complete NWFA University’s Install, Sand & Finish, and Sales online courses.
- Attend NWFA Inspector School.
- Complete NWFACP Inspector Test.
- Submit and gain approval on two Inspection Report Scenarios with data collected during Inspector School.
- Submit and gain approval on three inspection reports while receiving help from an assigned mentor.
- Sign NWFACP Inspector Code of Conduct Agreement.
Annual Maintenance Requirements:
- Company must maintain NWFA membership.
- Pay annual CWFI dues.
- Submit and gain approval on 1 current inspection report by June 30th of each year.
- If 1 report does not pass review, NWFACP reserves the right to request additional reports or remove certification.
- Completion of 3 Continuing Certification Units (CCUs).
- Must complete 3 CCUs by June 30th of each year; no rollover credits
